Helping Others Pursue Empowerment

Our Mission

Welcome to Greater New Hope Charities, a non-profit organization based in Fairview, Oregon. We believe in being intentional, through love and grace, in providing diverse communities, with a high concentration on African-American, immigrants and Latino communities, access to supportive services and resources to improve one’s overall health and well-being.

Collaboration

At Greater New Hope Charities, our collaboration  with partners, stakeholders, local organizations and community leaders are essential in our work. By serving our communities  together, we will achieve our vision of creating a healthier, more equitable society.

community

Greater New Hope Charities commitment to serving the working poor in diverse communities throughout Rockwood, Gresham, Fairview, and surrounding neighborhoods in Multnomah County, is intentional about providing culturally specific trauma informed support and resources that improves an individual’s overall health and well-being.

Compassion

Our Leadership Team and staff are passionate about serving our communities with compassion, dignity, and respect. We understand the challenges marginalized and/or low-income communities face such as discrimination, systematic inequity, and health and racial disparities. Greater New Hope Charities is here to provide supportive services, education and knowledge, and community resources in our continued effort to end economic and environmental disparities in culturally specific communities through an equity lens.

Our Services

Housing Support Services

We understand that there is a pressing need in our communities, and throughout Oregon, for low-cost affordable housing. In our efforts to alleviate poverty, homelessness, at risk of homelessness, and chronic homelessness our housing support services may connect you to rental assistance, emergency shelters, access to low-cost affordable permanent housing, wraparound services, case management, and other supports.

Community Health Programs

GNHC actively listens to and supports the voices of the community regarding their needs using a culturally specific trauma informed strength based model. As a BIPOC organization we are engaged in building community health programs using an anti-racism framework. Our aim is to address racial disparities in health systems, eliminate barriers in accessing quality healthcare, access to obtaining affordable health insurance, engaging in healthy lifestyle changes, and sharing accurate health education and information amongst communities.

Meet The Team

Our Leaders here at GNHC have over 40+ years of combined expertise providing culturally specific strengths-based trauma informed supportive services and resources to underrepresented marginalized communities throughout  Multnomah County and surrounding counties. Our aim is to strengthen families, individuals and communities by being a liaison of H.O.P.E. towards self-sufficiency, improved health outcomes, and overall wellness.

Testimonial

I want to thank you for allowing us to become a partner with the clothing giveaway, to be able to provide brand-new clothing to those in need. I am planning a local giveaway here in Maryland. I shared some of the boxes with Rev. Irene Smith. She has a nonprofit. She was blessed to be able to ship boxes to Uganda. Just wanted to share their expressions of appreciation and the smiles of the children. Just warms your heart!
